Leveling Your MapleStory Thief

As you’re out exploring in MapleStory, you’ll encounter fewer Thieves than any other class. Why?
They are less flashy then Pirates and Magicians
They can be a bit fragile

To be a successful MS Thief you have to be able to move around and occasionally deal a lot of damage. It’s a rather difficult class to play but also really fun if you know how to play it properly. If you’re struggling with this unique class, luckily there are plenty MapleStory Thief guides to help you get started and show you the ropes.

MapleStory Thief Skill Points

MS Thieves level by gaining skill points and ability points that they can use to gain new powers and skills. Many skilled players have written MS guides that recommend MapleStory Thief builds and give lists of the most useful skills and how many Skill Points are recommended in each ability.

Keen Eyes increases the range of throwing stars and knives. This is useful since your Thief isn’t very strong

Nimble Body increases you accuracy and helps you avoid attacks from your enemies

Dark Sight allows you to use Magic Points to hide out in the shadows giving you immunity to monster attacks

Maple Story Thief Primary Attributes

Dexterity (DEX): This is important in helping you avoid enemy attacks and helping improve your accuracy
Luck (LUK): This is your Thief’s most important Ability since it controls the amount of damage you can do and improves your accuracy

Some players prefer to have a Dexless Thief. They intentionally keep their DEX at 0 so they can have more Ability Points to put towards their LUK and other attributes. To make up for the lack of DEX they can get special equipment.
